How does Emsella work?

Emsella uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology to stimulate deep pelvic floor contractions. During the session, patients sit fully clothed on the Emsella chair, where the electromagnetic pulses induce thousands of contractions in the pelvic floor muscles. One session is equivalent to performing over 11,000 Kegel exercises, helping strengthen muscles and improve bladder control.

Is the treatment painful?

Not at all! Emsella is completely noninvasive and pain-free. You don’t even have to get fully undressed for the treatment. Most patients describe the sensation as a gentle tingling or pelvic floor tightening that’s easy to tolerate.

How many sessions will I need?

A typical treatment plan includes 6 sessions, twice per week. Your provider will tailor the frequency to your specific needs for optimal results. After the initial treatment series, some patients opt to come in for occasional maintenance sessions once or twice per year.

Who is a good candidate for Emsella?

Emsella is ideal for women or men experiencing urinary leakage, weakened pelvic floor muscles, or reduced intimate satisfaction. It’s also popular among postpartum and postmenopausal women.

Can I return to my normal activities after treatment?

Yes! Emsella requires absolutely no downtime. You can resume all normal activities, including exercise, immediately after each of your sessions with Emsella in Indianapolis.
