When you book a chemical peel, your appointment will be preceded by an in-depth consultation to determine your needs. This allows us to discuss your skin type, your specific concerns, and the treatment area you’d like to address. From there, we’ll create a care plan that works best for you. If you and your aesthetician decide on a deeper peel, you may initially experience dryness, redness, peeling, or flaking for 3 to 7 days. This is simply your skin processing the peel. Afterward, your skin will look clearer and smoother, achieving an almost “airbrushed” look that will leave you feeling confident and youthful, even without makeup.

At Phases® Skin Care & Laser Center, we believe in creating customized solutions to fit our patient’s individual needs. That’s why chemical peels can be such a great fit for so many people!
Our peels range in depth from superficial to deep, and can even be layered together to address multiple issues at once.
A superficial peel is our lightest peel, as it typically does not result in a noticeable “peeling” effect. Perfect for mild skin imperfections, helps provide radiant-looking skin. It can consist of lactic acid, salicylic acid, mandelic acid or glycolic acid. A light peel does not typically require significant downtime.
Our medium-depth chemical peel results in a dry, flaky skin peel. It can consist of salicylic acid and retinols. A medium peel is effective for treating fine surface wrinkles, superficial blemishes, and pigment problems.
Our deepest peel produces a “sheet” peel effect, lasting up to five days. This may require more downtime but can treat concerns on a much deeper level.
Regardless of the depth of peel you choose, there are endless customizations we can make to this treatment in order to ensure the best possible outcome for you. During your consultation, our aesthetician will explain how a chemical peel works and review the different types of chemical peels we can use to address your concerns.
Your unique chemical peel will be customized specifically to address skin concerns on your face, neck, chest, and even your hands.
In order to provide you with the best possible outcome from a chemical peel, we’ll need to be sure of a few things. 1) You have no active sun exposure, including sunburn, sun tan, or spray tan. 2) You are on an antiviral medication for 1 to 3 days prior to treatment if you are prone to cold sores. 3) You discontinue the use of retinol and other harsh topical prescription products.
We’ll reiterate all of this information and more during your initial consultation for a chemical peel at Phases.
Because your skin may be more sensitive than normal after a chemical peel, we strongly recommend avoiding sun exposure for up to 2 weeks after your treatment. We also recommend sticking to products labeled “sensitive skin.” We’ll be there to help you navigate through your follow-up care by providing you with detailed instructions to help you get the most out of your peel and keep your skin protected and healthy!
