Technically, the final results of surgery takes 6 to 12 months to see. This means that all of the swelling has resolved, the deep tissues have healed, and the incisions are healed completely. Typically within 3 to 4 weeks, results are excellent and the changes that take place thereafter are minor and usually can only be seen when looking closely at photographs.
Most bruises resolve within 10 to 14 days and can be easily covered with makeup. A compression wrap or garment is generally kept in place as much as possible for the week following surgery, but its use will be reduced after the first postoperative visit. We will provide you with all of the post-care instructions you need to minimize bruising and promote a quick healing process.
Patients travel from across Indiana to receive facial, neck, or chin liposuction at our office. Most of these patients are back at work in as little as one week, though many are back sooner. Social downtime may be longer to allow for bruising and swelling to resolve.
