Can you get laser hair removal when you have a tan?

We cannot treat people with active sun exposure or sunburn. But we can treat all skin types. We recommend 1 to 2 weeks with no active sun exposure before and after treatment.

Does hair removal work on all types of hair?

For laser hair removal to work effectively, the hair must be very dark or dark brown. It will not work on velous hair (peach fuzz), blonde, light red, or gray hair.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

We are fortunate to have the latest technology in laser hair removal and it is painless! .

How many treatments do I need?

This varies depending on several factors including the area being treated, how dense and coarse the hair is and your skin type. Your aesthetician will let you know approximately how many treatments you will need during your initial consultation..

When will I see results of laser hair removal?

Results will vary from person to person, with most people seeing best results after a series of 5 or more treatments of consistent appointments scheduled 4 to 8 weeks apart. You can expect a significant reduction in hair growth. However, there is no laser hair removal system that can permanently remove all unwanted hair. Several factors can trigger dormant hairs to regrow, such as hormonal changes, certain medications or some disorders.

Book a Consultation

Our medical aesthetician will discuss your concerns and goals for your hair removal. She’ll go over your medical history, examine your skin and review the treatment.

Our front desk team will then book your first procedure!

Getting Ready for Laser Hair Removal

Prior to your procedure, avoid any sun exposure or self tanning products on areas that will be treated.

You will arrive at Phases Skincare and Laser Center by Turkle & Associates for your procedure. Your aesthetician will greet you and bring you back to the treatment room. We will examine your skin making sure there has been no drastic changes since your consultation. Then, we will review the procedure and prep your skin prior to the procedure.

Sit Back & Relax

Your aesthetician will perform your procedure, keeping in mind the discussions you had about your hair removal goals.

Next Steps

If there are any post-care instructions with this particular procedure, your aesthetician will be sure to go over those and any post-procedure skin care regimen that she has recommended.
