What areas of the face does facelift surgery address?

Facelift surgery primarily addresses the lower two-thirds of the face, including the jawline, chin, and neck. Concerns regarding the eyelids, eyebrows, or forehead require a separate procedure, such as an eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) or brow lift (also known as a forehead lift). Where are the incisions for a facelift?

Typically, the incisions begin within the temporal hairline and continue along or just inside the ear, ending behind the ear within the hairline. Sometimes, we create a second incision hidden beneath the chin, and may perform liposuction to remove excess fat.

How long will I be bruised after a facelift?

Most bruises resolve within 10 to 14 days and can be easily covered with makeup. We will provide you with all of the post-care instructions you need to minimize bruising and streamline the healing process.

When will I see the final results of my facelift?

You can expect to see your final results 6 to 12 months after your facelift in Indianapolis, once deeper tissues have completely healed. That being said, you’ll notice excellent results about 6 weeks after surgery, once incisions have healed and the majority of swelling has resolved. The changes that occur thereafter are minor and usually only noticeable when looking closely at photographs.

Will I still look like myself after a facelift?

Absolutely! Our goal with any cosmetic surgery, but especially a facelift, is not to change your features. It is to enhance them. After a facelift, you will simply look like a younger, more refreshed version of yourself.
