Medications, Supplements and Herbal Products to Avoid Before Plastic or Cosmetic Surgery
The discontinuation of these medications for 14 days before AND 14 days after for all invasive (surgical) procedures and 14 days prior to injection of fillers or Botox Cosmetic® should be considered in order to reduce bleeding and bruising. Anyone taking prescription ***platelet-inhibitors or anticoagulants such as Warfarin (Coumadin), Lovenox, Plavix, Eliquis, Brilinta or any other prescription blood thinners or anti-inflammatory medications for the management of a medical condition must get permission from your prescribing doctor before stopping those medications as doing so might cause unwanted risks and side effects. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or nurse. Please note, it is okay to take Tylenol should you need a pain reliever.
