Your arms empower you to do so much, like lift heavy weights, pick up your grandchildren, tend your garden, hug your loved ones, and more. You should feel proud of your strength and what your body is capable of, even as the years tick by.
At Turkle & Associates, we never want you to feel that you have to hide your beautiful arms, be it behind sleeves or with strategic posing in photos. If a brachioplasty can give you the push you need to embrace your arms again, we are here to support you.
Learn how you can prepare for your arm skin removal surgery in Indiana—and how you can care for yourself after your procedure.

Preparing for Your Brachioplasty
Your care at Turkle & Associates begins with a surgical consultation. During this consultation, you sit down with one of our board-certified surgeons, Dr. Turkle or Dr. Specht, to discuss your medical history, expectations for treatment, and questions you may have regarding the procedure.
Once they confirm you are a suitable candidate for a brachioplasty, your doctor walks you through each step of your procedure. They also share recommended pre-care or post-care steps unique to your treatment plan.
Prior to an arm lift, our providers recommend avoiding blood thinners and any other medications as directed. Because your surgeon performs your treatment while you are under anesthesia, you should also arrange for transportation after your surgery.
Undergoing an Arm Lift
During surgery, your highly qualified surgeon employs the most advanced techniques to artfully remove the unwanted skin and reshape the remaining tissue and muscle. In the process, they restore definition to your arms, enabling the once-slack skin to hug your biceps more snugly for a toned, youthful finish.
Most arm lift procedures take about 3 hours, after which your designated driver can take you home with your physical list of provided recovery instructions.

Recovering After Your Surgery
After your procedure, be gentle with your body. Your skin, muscles, and nervous system need time to heal following surgery. Following 3 to 10 days of bed rest, our surgeons recommend brachioplasty patients observe the following post-care guidelines to foster a smooth recovery:
- Rest and hydrate well in the weeks after your brachioplasty.
- Refrain from all intense cardio activity for 2 weeks after your surgery.
- Do not push, pull, or lift more than 10lbs for 6 weeks following treatment.
- Shower using gentle cleansers—no harsh scrubbing. Do not submerge your arms in water until 6 weeks after your procedure.
Once your incisions have healed and any swelling has subsided, you can enjoy your slimmed upper arms for years to come.
